Moberly Stars at the Minor and Masters Nationals 2016
It was a great weekend for the Moberly Stars at the British Masters and Minors Championship in Meadowbank, Scotland.
Oliver overcame a surprise first round defeat to win the u34k category. In a large group, he battled through 6 hard contests to become British Champion.
Also in the u34k, Ali started strongly with great victories but was also defeated in the quarter finals. He showed great spirit to win his remaining contests to secure bronze.
Liam was extremely unlucky in his semi final contest when a dubious refereeing decision cost him a place in the final. He also secured the bronze in the u30k.
Medals were presented by Stephanie Inglis, a competitor who competed against Moberly’s stars in the last decade, who had battled back from a life threatening injury in Vietnam.
Sensei Winnie competing a day earlier, secured won yet another Masters title, while Liston Denys won a bronze. It was truly an exceptional weekend for the stars at both ends of the competitive spectrum..
