Moberly Stars at Dublin and Ealing u8

Well done to the Moberly Stars competing in events in Ireland and Ealing today.
Oliver had a great day in Dublin at the Irish Open winning gold in the u42k with 4 hard fought wins. While in Ealing the under 8s showed some equally great judo at the EJC Easter fun event. Some of the judo on display was quite exceptional and as an added bonus presenting the medals was GB Olympian Nekoda Davis who herself had her first experience in an event like this some years ago.

Moberly Stars at London Development Event and Happidojo u8

Well done to the 3 Moberly Stars that fought at events in London and Thurrock yesterday. Little Emma took part in the Happidojo under 8 festival and showed her enthusiasm for judo with a great display of her throwing and transition skills. Over in East London, at the London Development Event, Deborah won a silver in the red belts section with her lovely hip throws. In the Yellow belt section, Cian won a well deserved bronze in the u38k after having 6 contests including 2 re-fights.

Moberly Stars at British Schools 2019

Well done to the Moberly Stars representing their various schools at the British Schools Championships at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Gold medal was won by Dinari in the year 10/11 u55k category who made relatively short work of his 4 contests to become British Schools Champion. For Myeisha in the year 8/9 u44k, and Anna in the year 12/13 u57, both were returning to defend titles they won last year. Unfortunately both ended with silver after progressing to their finals with some great judo. For Maddie in the year 8/9 u63k and Kristians in the year 6/7 u46k it was pure determination after early defeats to battle through to win well deserved bronze medals. Dmori also ended with a bronze medal in the year 8/9 u81k following an early defeat which saw him have to withdraw injured.
There was also good experience after some hard fought contests gained for Oliver, Alex, Daniel and Parnell.

Moberly stars at British Junior Open and Windsor u8s

Big well done to Tyrese on winning a bronze in the English Junior Open at u73k on Saturday. He also fought in the seniors and was placed 5th along with Reuel (u66k).
On Sunday, some of the Moberly under 8s took part in the Windsor U8 fun event at Windsor Judo Club. Another excellent training event introducing the youngsters to competitive judo, where all who took part were awarded medals.
