Moberly Stars at London Youth Games 2019

Great results for the Moberly Stars representing their various boroughs at the London Youth Games yesterday. A new venue at Lea Valley with Nike as a sponsor, it remains one of the largest youth events in Europe.
Fantastic gold medal winning performances from Luca and Luan for Tower Hamlets, Omar for Camden, Kyle for Brent and Daniel for Harrow. Excellent silvers for Liam for Tower Hamlets, Alex for Southwark and Anna for Haringey. Ali representing Camden just missed out on a medal.

Moberly Stars at Osterley u8 and South Coast

Well done to the Moberly stars competing at events in Osterley and Worthing this weekend. On Saturday eight of the under 8s took part in the Osterley u8 Festival. A lovely event with a friendly atmosphere giving our youngest Stars more event experience in a fun tournament. On Sunday six Moberly stars fought in the South Coast Yellow belt and under competition at Worthing Leisure Centre. This event is a must on our calendar as the Sussex team are always so committed to putting on a great event. Golds were won by Nyrell in the 34k, Ricayah in the u36k and Eva in the u40k. Isabella won bronze in the u36k. Just missing the medals were Cian and Mark in the u42k.

Moberly Stars at Venray International 2019

Very proud of those that fought at the Venray International Tournament this weekend. With over 1500 competitors from over 25 nations it is a premier club event on the circuit. Many of these competitors go on to Junior European cup events and greater. For Omar and Dinari it represented a step up in competition level. For Omar it was also new weight category after a long injury lay off. After a first round defeat, he won his next 4 contests with superb transitional skills to win bronze in the u46k cadet. Dinari won through to the final with 4 excellent wins but was undone in the final after a dubious decision. A silver in the u55k was still a great result. Moberly’s final medal was actually the first one, won in the first category of the weekend by Emma in the u22k. It was a brave effort in an intimidating atmosphere but an experience never to be forgotten.
Excellent experiences for the rest of team of Myeisha, Oliver, Ali, Tyrese and Micheal.
