Moberly Stars at Mikes Judo Club event 2019

Just when i was thinking about sleeping in, i had to get down to West Acton to attend Mikes Judo Club fun day festival with the club’s youngest stars. The training event was an introduction to competitive judo with all the children receiving an award for taking part. All the kids enjoyed the day and relished being a part of such an event. The future is definately very bright.

Moberly Stars Green Belt and Below Championships 2019

Massive well done to my Moberly stars that fought in our first Green Belt and Below championships. It turned out to be a pretty tough event and all our medal winners had to really dig deep to get a place on the podium.
Golds were won by Myeisha, Maddie and Kyan with some great displays. Silvers were won by Diva, Nathaniel, Corey and Dmori. Bronzes for Micayah, Deborah, Isabella, Parnell, Kristians and Jaden. Sacha just missed out on the medals
Special mention to Cian, Mark, and Eva who stepped up into this higher level and picked up some great experience.

Moberly Stars at Northern Ireland 2019

Big well done to Anna and Myeisha who both won gold in the Northern Ireland Open at the weekend. It was a first appearance for Anna in her new weight of u63k and her first Junior event too. For Myeisha it was also her first gold medal in the u44k Pre-Cadets, after silvers at the English Open and British schools Championships. It was a tough day for the Cadets as Dinari lost his bronze medal final after a disqualification in his quarter final. For Oliver after an earlier loss he had to unfortunately face Dinari in the repercharge.

Moberly Stars at Dublin and Ealing u8

Well done to the Moberly Stars competing in events in Ireland and Ealing today.
Oliver had a great day in Dublin at the Irish Open winning gold in the u42k with 4 hard fought wins. While in Ealing the under 8s showed some equally great judo at the EJC Easter fun event. Some of the judo on display was quite exceptional and as an added bonus presenting the medals was GB Olympian Nekoda Davis who herself had her first experience in an event like this some years ago.

Moberly Stars at British Schools 2019

Well done to the Moberly Stars representing their various schools at the British Schools Championships at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Gold medal was won by Dinari in the year 10/11 u55k category who made relatively short work of his 4 contests to become British Schools Champion. For Myeisha in the year 8/9 u44k, and Anna in the year 12/13 u57, both were returning to defend titles they won last year. Unfortunately both ended with silver after progressing to their finals with some great judo. For Maddie in the year 8/9 u63k and Kristians in the year 6/7 u46k it was pure determination after early defeats to battle through to win well deserved bronze medals. Dmori also ended with a bronze medal in the year 8/9 u81k following an early defeat which saw him have to withdraw injured.
There was also good experience after some hard fought contests gained for Oliver, Alex, Daniel and Parnell.
