Moberly Stars at Windsor u8 Festival and Red/Yellow Rumble

Well done to all that fought at the Windsor U8 fetival and Red/Yellow belt. A great event with a fantastic atmosphere. Its a great opportunity to give the youngest members of the team a chance to gain competition experience and win trophies. The under 8 event was run to ensure all those that took part fought among the same pre-arranged ranking system to keep the fresh beginners away from the little ninjas! There were fantastic contests and performances and some absolutlely memorable moments. Trophies were presented without ranking order to keep with the associations under 8 competition policy.
Trophy winners, Emma, Razia, Julia, Azriel, Joanne, Raheam, Adnan, Christopher, Alex, Yahya, Abdullah and Himmat.
In the red and Yellow belt section there were golds won by Abdullah and Jahnae making her debut. Silvers for Micayah, Yaqoob, I’sah and Deborah (who also won the ippon of the day). Bronzes were won by Isabella, Eva, Ricayah, Avyaan, Kameel, Karam and Tumon.
Special mention to Emma who also took part in the A1 event on Saturday in East Ham earning a gold medal.

Moberly Stars at Venray International 2019

Very proud of those that fought at the Venray International Tournament this weekend. With over 1500 competitors from over 25 nations it is a premier club event on the circuit. Many of these competitors go on to Junior European cup events and greater. For Omar and Dinari it represented a step up in competition level. For Omar it was also new weight category after a long injury lay off. After a first round defeat, he won his next 4 contests with superb transitional skills to win bronze in the u46k cadet. Dinari won through to the final with 4 excellent wins but was undone in the final after a dubious decision. A silver in the u55k was still a great result. Moberly’s final medal was actually the first one, won in the first category of the weekend by Emma in the u22k. It was a brave effort in an intimidating atmosphere but an experience never to be forgotten.
Excellent experiences for the rest of team of Myeisha, Oliver, Ali, Tyrese and Micheal.
