John Jayne at the Senior European Cup – Bratislava

John Jayne fought in the recent Senior European Cup in Bratislava last weekend. He won his first contest against the German, FREY by ippon, but then lost to the Serbian DOSEN, in the quarter final. John responded with two hard fought victories against Dutchman, ANSAH and the Lithuanian NENARTAVICIUS. However John sustained a neck injury in his last contest, and with limited mobility, he succumb to three penalties in the bronze medal final against HUTSOL from Ukraine.

John will be competing in the Junior World Championships in Zagreb in October. It will be his 3rd appearance at this prestigious event. With a current ranking of no.2, he will be hoping to finally achieve one of his long term goals.

Good Luck lil john

Moberly Stars at NHC Split Grade

It was a very long but extremely productive day for the Moberly Stars at the NHC Split Grade yesterday. Lots of fantastic performances and great results. Split into 3 groups, red belts, yellow and orange belts and green to brown belts, it was unfortunate that some had to compete among team mates due to a number of categories not having enough competitors. However, 10 Golds, 6 Silvers and 1 Bronze was a great result and placed Moberly 3rd in the Team competition(!)
