Moberly Stars at the London Open 2015

It was a busy weekend for the Moberly stars at the London Open with a total of 18 taking part in the event at the University of East London. Hosted by the London Area, it was an extremely very well run and highly popular event with an excellent standard of judo. Split into 6 sections, the first group up were the minors (under 12s).

Kamal was in typically scintillating form in the u30k category. His lighting fast reflexes saw him win three tough contests and he ended the day with an amazing bronze medal.

In the Pre-Cadet section (under 14s), Anna and Amel displayed their much improved fighting spirit to earn a silver and bronze in the u44k and u48k respectively.

The Cadets (under 17s) saw a Gold medal for Lucy who made extremely short work of the u63k category. Max had to settle for a silver in the u42k succumbing to a neat arm lock in the final, while Michael came back from a first round defeat to win the next four contests in fine style to claim the bronze in the u6ok.

The final category was the Masters (over 30s). Sensei Winnie rolled back the years and demonstrated that he is still able to produce high speed and skilful techniques as he also made very short work of the u60k category. Richard was the last Moberly medallists, winning the u90k category with his trademark shoulder throws.
