Sheziya was also in great form to claim her gold while Kristian was a little unlucky and had to settle for silver. Stefan unleashed a furious shoulder throw to claim a bronze medal, and brother David rounded up the medals with a gold medal in the open category.

Moberly Stars at 2017 National Team Championships

The 2017 British National Team Championships was a magnificent occasion. Not only did London retain the pre-cadet boys title but we were awarded a new trophy in memory of my dear friend and great supporter Roy Luff who passed away earlier this year. Presented by his wife Lesley it brought a tear to my eye to know he would be proud that we won it. It was a great event run by an excellent team of officials from the Southern Area.
The Moberly team members in the pre-cadets all performed superb and were worthy winners. Kamal, Kyle, Dinari and Daniel contributed to this amazing team in more than just competing but in support and togetherness. The Cadet boys won a great bronze medal and Reuel and Tyrese were instrumental in this success.
The London Area also won the men’s title, silver in the cadet girls and bronze in the senior women.
i must also add that i was so proud of every member of the London team, from the competitors to the coaching staff to the crazy supporting parents. Our London spirit is to be envied. NUFF LOVE FOR LONDON

Moberly Stars at 2017 Kent International

Another great weekend at the Kent International for the Moberly Stars. In what always proves to be a very high standard of junior judo, it was Moberly’s 19th appearance and we are very proud to be part of this prestigious event with its proud history.
In the Yellow belt section Luca won an excellent bronze in a very strong u34k category. While Diva and Tomasso just missed out.
The Orange and Green belt section had some of the largest groups. Kamal and Kyle again dominated the u42k taking gold and silver respectively. Luan and Amel were in great form as the won the u50k and u52k, and Nasima battled hard to claim bronze at u32k. Oliver Almond, Oliver Lee, Sacha and Maddy fought very well and gained more invaluable experience.
In the Blue and Brown belt section, Dinari picked up an excellent silver in the u46k, while bronzes were won by Alex (u46), and Daniel (u50). Brothers Michael and David just missed out in the u66k and u55k.
In the Youth section Reuel continued his great form with another gold in the u66k. Michael won bronze in the same category, while Tyrese also had to settle for a bronze at u73k. Finally there was a great performance from Bence also at u66k who missed the medals but showed great improvement.

Well done little John…😎

Moberly Stars at the London Youth Games

Well done to the Moberly Stars that represented their various boroughs at the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace last Saturday. In an extremely hot and humid sports centre, the stars fought exceptionally.
Just a bit unfortunate that they don’t all live in the same borough. We would have given the team winners a run for their money 😄

SILVER’S
Kamal (Brent), David, Max Khovansky (Westminster)

Moberly Stars at South Coast Minors Open

Sensational golden sweep for the Moberly Stars minors at the South Coast Minors Open at Worthing today. Another excellent event run by the Sussex County team, maintaining a standard set by the late Roy Luff.
The Moberly minors were in magnificent form as all 6 won gold in their respective categories. Veras Brothers Luca and Liam, Oliver, Sacha, Myeisha and Maddie showed great desire and ability with gold medal winning performances.
All but Luca will be stepping up to pre-cadet level soon and the future looks bright😎

Moberly Stars at Bishop Stortford Teams and Red/Yellow event

Well done to the Moberly Stars that took part in the Bishop Stortford Teams on Saturday and the Red and Yellow belt rumble on Sunday. Another well run event from the team at Bishop and Kim Tilley. The team event on Saturday is run on a combined team weight basis. Myeisha and Diva produced a fantastic set of results to win Gold in the u12 Girls Red and Yellow belt lightweight team. Even more remarkable as they were missing a player. While Kaden, Tomasso, and Corey performed great to secure a bronze in the boys section against much heavier teams. The Minor and Pre-cadet team of Oliver, Kyle/Kamal and Corey just missed out on a medal after some battling performances.
Mothering Sunday saw the return of the red and yellow belts with another gold for Myeisha, her fifth from 5 events. There were silvers for Diva, Parnel, Tommaso and Corey with some breath-taking throwing techniques. Bronzes were secured in fine combative style by Kaden, Cian, Kristian and Stefan.
