Moberly Stars full return to Judo

We are in step 4 of the Roadmap out of lockdown and all restrictions are set to expire on 19th July.

We will be allowing spectators into the dojo. Seniors will be allowed to return to full contact training. The number of participants will also increase to 25 per class.

The booking system will remain in place as this gives coaches better visibility to plan lessons in advance based on the number of attendees and mat area available. All parents/students must continue to book and pay online for their classes in advance. The booking system will close 3 hours before each class to cut down on unnecessary admin.

We ask that everyone continues to be vigilant, avoid attending class if you experience any symptoms and it is a personal choice if you choose to wear a face covering when in the dojo.

Thank you for your patience and support.

We are continuing to accept new beginners but the number of participants in each class remains at 15 and all are required to book classes in advance. No spectators are allowed in the Dojo. Under 8’s, Micayah, Joanne, Kordel, Christopher, Tyrese, Kameel and Isa’h showed fantastic fighting spirit with some geat performances. While Deborah and Isabella won excellent silver medals, and Cian and Nils won hard fought bronzes in the mini-mon event.
On Sunday at the Hampshire Couny under 16 and Senior Open, Omar and Ali won gold and bronze respectively in the u42k. In the u55k, Kamal defeated Dinari in the final and Kyle won bronze. Moberly Star Luca at the British Minors Nationals

What a day for Luca. 5 straight wins to get to the final of the British Minors. He lost out to a player he beat in his 2nd contest..( would have rather the straight knock out system!!! ?)
I am so proud of this kid. He was so focused on each contest, he was the only Moberly Star competing today at the event and we were gutted that he lost his final but it’s only his first Nationals and he has a really bright future.

There was also some great experience for the 2 Moberly Stars that made the trip to Holland to compete in the extremley tough Emen and Alkmaar events. Both Maddie and Oliver fought against German, Swede and Dutch competitors and although neither returned with medals they picked up the type of experience that champions are bred on. Well done.

Excellent performances from the Moberly Stars at the NHC Open at the University of Herfordshire Sport Village at the weekend. The two day event saw a very high standard of Judo with some very memorable peformances in some very competitive groups.

While Kyle, Kamal, Oliver L and Daniel showed great spirit but were unable to medal in the u55k and u60k. Pre-cadets Myeisha and Oliver A, both excecuted superb throws in winning silvers in the u40k and u42k, while Corey also won a bronze at u60k. Moberly Stars at the Heart Of England

Well done to Oliver and Maddie for picking up well deserved bronzes at the Midland Area Heart of England on Saturday. It was an excellent achievement giving the stronger players in the new age band. Dinari was unlucky in his heavier weight category but gained worthwhile experience.
